Dr Francois Roux graduated in 1985 from the University of Stellenbosch with his MB.Ch.B. He completed his internship at the Rundu State Hospital from 1985 – 1990. He then moved into private practice in Franschhoek in 1990- 1991.
 
In 1991, he moved back to PE and joined Drs Roux and Partners.  In 2004, he completed a post graduate Diploma in Family medicine. Heads the Travel Clinic and has a Yellow fever Licence since 2005 which includes Travel Medicals for those who are working in Africa and abroad.
